Law Firm Due Diligence
We offer a discreet and highly confidential due diligence service.
As law firms develop more sophisticated recruitment strategies, independent due diligence is rapidly becoming a key part of the lateral hiring process. Hiring mistakes are very costly and undertaking independent due diligence at only a fraction of the cost is clearly a sensible investment. Mere reference checking or informal soundings are often not enough and may not provide a complete picture or allow for a totally informed decision to be made.
Some brief comments on the practicalities:
Discretion is a key element of the process and our proven methodology is designed to preserve the confidentiality of both our client and the prospective lateral candidate.
We realise that timing and speed are very important in the recruitment process, with due diligence undertaken before any offer is made to a candidate. We aim to complete assignments within seven working days of being instructed but in some cases we have completed assignments in a much shorter timeframe.
We have undertaken due diligence on partner candidates in a number of different jurisdictions - the UK, Europe (Belgium, Italy, Spain, France and Germany), North America, The Middle East, CIS, Asia (Hong Kong and Singapore) and Australia.
The majority of our assignments have been in relation to partners in private practice, but we are also asked to undertake due diligence in relation to senior law firm management positions.
We are regularly asked to carry out due diligence in the context of team moves.
We have also undertaken larger pieces of due diligence to assist with merger discussions.
If you would like to discuss any aspect of our confidential due diligence service in more detail please contact either Nick Holt or Jamie Newbold in London or Gordon Simmonds in Asia.
