David Norman

David Norman was a scholar at Balliol College, Oxford, where he read Philosophy and Psychology, and then trained as a Solicitor at one of the predecessor firms to Clifford Chance in London. He moved to Hong Kong in 1984 with Slaughter and May, joining Richards Butler in 1987 where he became a partner shortly afterwards. David has been recognised as one of Hong Kong's leading M&A and Corporate Finance lawyers being named at various times in publications such as “World’s Leading M&A Lawyers”, “World’s Leading Corporate Governance Lawyers”, “An International Who's Who of M&A Lawyers” and “An International Who's Who of Capital Markets Lawyers” . The Hong Kong office of Richards Butler merged with US firm Reed Smith in 2008, and David retired as a partner at the end of 2010. David now combines his role at SR Search with his other business interests in Asia.
