Gordon Simmonds is a law graduate from the University of Aberdeen, where he was also a golf 'blue'. He was admitted as a solicitor in Scotland in 1985 and in England & Wales in 1991. He was a corporate finance lawyer at Clifford Chance in London between 1988 and 1993. Following two years as group legal counsel for Trevor Hemmings Group, he relocated to Asia, establishing a sports marketing and consulting business that included event organising, television production, golf advisory and publishing throughout the region from bases in Hanoi, Singapore, Tokyo and Manila. He started his career in legal recruitment in 2007, with particular focus on private practice partner level search for a select group of global clients hiring in and into Asia. In 2009 and 2010, he operated this business from a Dubai base which enabled him to add specific knowledge of the Middle East legal market. He joined SR Search in February 2011.
