We were instructed by a FTSE 350 business to undertake a search for their Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The firm was undergoing change within its senior management team, and the need to hire a CFO was the last piece in the change programme.
The firm has previously worked with a global search firm when hiring for their executive team. After a competitive bid we were instructed to handle the retained mandate, due to our well-connected network within the CFO market place. The previous CFO was highly regarded both internally and externally, so our short list needed to mirror the skillset and qualities of this individual. The particular challenge for this role was finding a candidate to work at the firm’s HQ which is not the most obvious of business locations. Of the five candidates short listed, the successful one was from a FTSE 20 business. We worked closely with both the Executive Board and the Non Executive Directors to ensure the process was highly transparent and effective which ultimately allowed the client to hire an individual of exceptional calibre.
We have subsequently further developed our relationship, and have recently worked with the incoming CFO as he has strengthened his team with the hire of his deputy CFO.
